Upon first access, your dashboard will display a default cadence for Higg FEM, Higg FSLM*, and Higg BRM.
*The SAC does not impose a cadence to complete and post Higg FSLM, so the end date of the Default Higg FSLM cadence is a suggestion. All cadences in the Adoption Tool are required to have both a Start and End Date.
This dashboard shows you a list of overview of the Higg module adoption cadences that are available to your account. Data will populate once you add accounts to each cadence. Here is a brief description of each field shown in this table:
- Cadence: Cadence Name
- Module: Module Type (FEM 2019, FEM 2020, FSLM, etc.)
- Total Expected: the total number of expected modules; you must manually enter this number for each cadence.
- # of Companies: the number of accounts that you have added to the cadence.
- Starts: Cadence Start Date (the start of the reporting period for this module); this is a static field that cannot be customized for default cadences
- Ends: Cadence End Date (the end of the reporting period for this module); this is a static field that cannot be customized for default cadences
- No Module: the number of accounts that have not acquired the module yet
- NS: Not Started: the number of accounts that have acquired the module but have not started it yet
- ASI: In Progress; the number of accounts that have acquired the module and are in progress of completing
- ASC: Completed &Posted; the number of accounts that have completed and posted the self-assessment
- Verification Purchased: the number of accounts that have completed and posted the self-assessment, have purchased the verification module, but have not yet started the verification process.
- VRP: Verification In Progress; the number of accounts that have completed and posted the self-assessment, have purchased the verification module, and are currently in progress with completing the verification process.
- VRQ: Verification Quality Check; the number of accounts that are in the process of completing verification and are currently in the verification quality check stage.
- VRC: Verification Completed
- VRE: Verification Edit; the number of accounts that are in the process of completing verification and have requested the verifier to edit the verification assessment.
- VRD: Verification Disputed; the number of accounts that are in the process of completing verification and have requested to dispute the completed verification; module verification is under investigation.
- VRF: Verification Finalized; the number of accounts that have completed verification of the assessment and have finalized the verified assessment.
Advanced accounts have the added functionality to create multiple custom cadences. This feature provides the flexibility needed to set up cadences that are different from the tool’s Default cadences and that reflect the account’s specific module tracking needs.
Here are some examples of cadence criteria:
- Module Type – manage separate cadences for Higg FEM completion, Facility Preview submission, Higg FSLM completion, and Higg BRM completion.
- Verification – in the case that you require only a subset of your value chain partners to get their assessments verified and complete vFEM or vFSLM, you may want to create a new cadence for these accounts that is separate from the accounts that are only required to complete the self-assessment, without verification.
- Time – a set window of time in which a facility has to complete a specified module. You may have a need for multiple module onboarding dates and deadlines throughout the year. For example, create multiple Higg FSLM cadences with different end dates that reflect specific audit periods. Or set an early deadline for those value chain partners who’ve consistently completed FEM in previous years.
- Account Type – set up custom cadences based on different product categories or tiers. This would allow you to monitor module progress by group (i.e. Fabric mills, tier 1 suppliers, etc.)
- Location – customize cadences based on facility location (i.e. region or country).
Create a Custom Cadence
1. From the main adoption tool dashboard, click the Start a New Cadence button to begin designing your cadence.
2. Enter cadence information
a. Enter a title for your new cadence.
b. Set your cadence start and end dates, by clicking on each date box or calendar icon.
c. Select a module – From the list of modules, select which module your cadence is addressing
d. Add internal comments or notes about your cadence.
3. Save your new cadence by clicking the Create Cadence button.
4. You will then be prompted to add accounts to your cadence, by uploading a list.
5. Click CSV Upload Format to download the upload file template. Fill out the template to create your upload list. Once the file is ready, click the Upload button and select your CSV file to upload. You will always be asked to confirm the upload.

Facility Preview Cadences
Brand accounts that have the Advanced Service Plan and have opted into Facility Preview, will have access to Facility Preview custom cadence features in the Adoption Tool. Here are the steps to create a custom Facility Preview cadence, which you must use to nominate facilities to view and submit Facility Preview.
1. From the main adoption tool dashboard, click the Create Cadence button to begin designing your cadence.
2. Enter the cadence name and select cadence start/end dates. When you select FEM2020, two Facility Preview options will appear that are unique to FEM2020:
a. Enable Facility Preview
b. Enable Facility Preview and Submission
Brands have three different options of creating a FEM 2020 Cadence:
- Create a FEM 2020 Cadence without either Facility Preview or Facility Preview Submission
- Create a FEM 2020 Cadence with Facility Preview but without Facility Preview Submission
- Create a FEM 2020 Cadence with both Facility Preview and Facility Preview Submission
Note: These options can only be chosen during this part of the custom cadence creation workflow, and cannot be changed or edited after clicking Create Cadence. Please read the descriptions below before selecting an option.
Cadence Option Descriptions
FEM 2020 Cadence without either Facility Preview or Facility Preview Submission
This is a standard FEM 2020 Cadence without the Facility Preview options available to the Facilities that are in the Cadence.
FEM 2020 Cadence with Facility Preview but without Facility Preview Submission
In this Cadence type, facilities within the Cadence complete and post the full FEM 2020 including the Facility Preview section. There is no option to submit the Facility Preview before posting the full FEM.
FEM 2020 Cadence with both Facility Preview and Facility Preview Submission
Selecting both the ‘Enable Facility Preview’ and ‘Enable Facility Preview Submission’ options, changes the completion workflow. A facility that is in this cadence can access Facility Preview on top of their FEM module. At the top of their module, facilities will see a new message bar regarding Facility Preview completion instructions. Once the facility has completed 100% of the Facility Preview questions, they will be prompted to submit Facility Preview. A submit button will appear on both the module overview page and within the assessment.
3. Once you have selected the desired option for enabling Facility Preview, click Create Cadence and follow the prompts to add accounts to this cadence.
4. Once you have successfully added accounts to this Facility Preview-enabled cadence, the module will include the Facility Preview section for each of these accounts once they purchase FEM2020.
5. If “automated emails” are enabled for this cadence, the cadence members will receive email notifications from the platform about the module, including a request to share their module with the cadence owner once they have acquired the module.
6. You will now be able to be able to manage Facility Preview facilities from the Adoption Tool. On your dashboard, you’ll now see the Facility Preview cadence along with a new column. On the cadence details page, you’ll now see Facility Preview columns in the table grid view. For more information on Facility Preview, please read the guidance here.
Add Accounts to a Cadence
Ongoing List Management & Cadence Support (Advanced Service)
With the Advanced Service Plan, Higg Co partners with you throughout the adoption cycle to manage your cadences using the Higg Adoption Tool and to update your module adoption list to reflect any changes that occur during the year (i.e. completion requirement changes, facility production updates, etc.). Your Customer Success Manager (CSM) will add and remove accounts from each cadence based on your request, as needed. Your CSM will also maintain a supplemental Excel list offline to help manage additional account information, such as facility contact information.
Advanced Account Matching (Advanced Service)
Higg Co provides an advanced level of ongoing account matching services, by regularly running your list (bulk list upload) and also by manually conducting frequent individual company name searches from entities on your adoption list. This ongoing service enables your team to track the most up-to-date account information and module status per account in your adoption list. This process helps to ensure we match newly created accounts (first-time Higg Index users that may not have a Higg Account ID at first) throughout the adoption cycle. Your CSM will run the list on a biweekly basis searching for new account matches, until 100% of companies in your offline list are represented on platform (have each been associated with an active Higg Account ID, and have successfully been added to one of your adoption cadences).
Search for Individual Accounts
From this page, you can use the account company name, Higg ID, *OAR ID, or Custom ID to look up individual accounts that you would like to add to your adoption cadence, so that you can start tracking their module progress.

Step 1: In the Search box, enter a company name, Higg ID (short or long version), OAR ID, or Custom ID. This input will yield a list of match results for you to choose from.
The system will remember your last five search terms.
Step 2: Review the list of results, to find the correct account to add to the cadence.
Column Header Guide:
|Name||The account name of the matched Higg account.|
|Type||The account type (i.e. Facility, Brand, Other, etc.)|
|OAR ID||The Open Apparel Registry (OAR) ID is a unique identifier specific to facility-type accounts on Higg.org. Click here for more info on OAR IDs.|
|Higg ID||The Higg ID for the matched record.|
|Custom ID||Custom IDs are your company’s internal IDs that you have previously assigned to Higg accounts.|
|Location||The full address on the account from the matched record.|
Indicates whether the matched record can be added to the cadence or not. Options:
|Has Shared With Me|
Indicates whether or not the matched record has shared the target module for this cadence with the cadence owner. Options:
Note: Only accounts that are deemed eligible can be selected to add. For example, a brand account is not eligible to be added to a Higg FEM or FSLM cadence. Therefore a checkbox is absent for the match result shown here, and the status is “This account type cannot be added to the cadence.”
Step 3: When you select any of the eligible search results, you will see them appear in the “Selected Accounts” side panel. When you’re ready to add, click the Add to Cadence button.
Once an account has been added to the cadence, its status in this results page will immediately change to “Record already exists in this cadence.” And it will no longer be selectable from the search results.
Immediately a module share request is sent from your account to the account you’ve added. Once the recipient reviews and accepts the share request, you will then be able to see the module data in your account’s Higg module page. Regardless of module share status, you will be able to immediately see the completion status of each module you’ve added, from your adoption cadence dashboard. See Cadence Details section.
Upload Account List
This feature can be used to add accounts to your cadence and send invitations in bulk. Download the CSV Upload Format to view the specified import file format. Refer to the following section for list preparation guidance.
Prepare Your List
The CSV Import Format:

- Higg ID* = the shorter numeric string used as a unique identifier (i.e. 138382)
- Account ID* = the longer alphanumeric string used as a unique identifier (i.e. 3b7027750db4d52e5079a…)
*Higg ID or Account ID are the best criteria to use to find a direct Higg account match. For each record where the Higg/Account ID is known, all other data (email, address, name) are not necessary to include in this import file. These two IDs can be found in previous Higg FEM pages (tip: download the bulk CSV from your FEM modules page to find the Higg IDs for accounts that have shared their module with you in the past.)
- OAR ID = a 15-character unique Open Apparel Registry ID associated with facility accounts (i.e. CN2019067NZ95AM)
- Tax ID = the unique company tax ID
- Social Credit ID = a unique, 18-digit national business registration number issued to all businesses and other entities in China
- Multiple email addresses are accepted, but must be separated by a semicolon.
- The system will look for matching Higg account user email addresses.
- For each record where the full address is unknown, try to be as specific as possible. If the street name is unknown, try to at least provide data for City and Country.
- The system will look for Higg accounts that have an address within a 100-meter radius of the input location.
- The system will search for the exact string provided. For example, if “Company, Inc.” is input, it will only look for that exact string and yield results that contain “Company, Inc.” It will not yield results that contain just “Company” or “Inc.”
See sample CSV bulk upload file pictured below. Each row represents a different account. Emails, Location, and Company Name data are only provided for those accounts where ID is unknown.
Upload Your List
Once your CSV file has been populated with data and ready for import, you can use either the Upload button or the Darg & Drop File feature to upload your file. Note that the system will not accept CSV files that contain more than 700 records (rows of data).
View Upload Results
Step 1: Once you submit your list, the system begins a data validation process and begins matching records from your list to existing Higg accounts. The processing time is dependent on the size of the list but shouldn’t take longer than a minute. Once the evaluation process is complete, you will see a paginated list of results displayed in a grid layout.
Step 2: Review these results and select which accounts to add to the cadence. This phase allows you to preview and confirm the accuracy of account matches before adding them to the cadence, thus preventing incorrect accounts being added and sent a notification. It is helpful to have your import file open as you review these results.
Results Grid Data Guide
If you scroll to the bottom of this page, you will find a dropdown which allows you to change the number of items displayed per page (10-1000).
Grid Data Columns:
Each column has sort and filter functionality.
|Row||The row number of the original record from the import file. This can be used for external reference if needed.||Search|
|Higg ID||The Higg ID for the matched record. If multiple potential matches are found, this will be blank for the parent row but populated for each potential match.||Search|

Used to indicate if the match is a direct or potential match. Options:
A direct match is one where the match is made directly on a single criteria (i.e. Higg ID) and results in only one possible match return.
Potential matches indicate multiple possible matches for one record.
Used to indicate what data from the import was used to find the match. Options:
Used to indicate if the matched record can be added to the cadence or not. Options:
Used to provide more detail about eligibility. Options:
Used to provide information about if the matched record has ever shared any other modules with the cadence owner. Options:

Used to provide information about if the matched record has shared the target module for this cadence with the cadence owner. Options:
The status of the target module for this cadence. Options include every platform status, plus an additional status for “Not Acquired”:
Tip #1: Customize the table layout. You may choose which fields you’d like to see on your results table.
Tip #2: Use Match Type filter to view only Direct matches first. Confirm and select each correct direct match and add to cadence. Then review potential matches.
Review Potential Matches
Records that have multiple Potential Matches will show as nested under the import file row. Click the carat to reveal all potential matches listed for that row.
Each eligible nested row can be selected.
CSV Option: You can download these results as a CSV.
Step 3: Select matches that you would like to add to cadence, either individually or by using the multi-select feature. When at least one record has been selected, you will see the Add to Cadence button appear in the lower right-hand corner.
After clicking the Add to Cadence button, you’ll receive a notification that your selection has been successfully added to cadence.
Step 4: You can return to these import results any time, even after you exit this page. When you navigate to Invites → Upload Facility List, you will see a running list of uploads for this cadence. To view the results of a previous upload, simply click on the item from the list to view.
Cadence Time Period
You can view the cadence dates on the main cadence dashboard and in each individual cadence page.
In an individual cadence page, you can see the dates again and the total number of days remaining.
You can enter the total number of facilities on your list to keep track of all facilities that are not yet on the platform.
The Progress of Accounts bar chart displays a count of accounts per module status in your cadence. The count is shown above each status bar. The percentage is calculated from the total number of expected accounts, which is a manual input (box appears above this chart). If no value has been entered in the total expected box, then the percentage is calculated from the total number of accounts that have been successfully added to this cadence.
Click Save Image to export an image file for this bar chart.
The Conversion of Accounts funnel chart shows the flow of account conversion through the various adoption stages, starting from account adoption into cadence through each module status, all the way through to finalized module verification. The data in light green bars to the right of they main funnel show how many accounts have not yet reached that adoption stage. The goal is to have wide bars at every level of the funnel by the end of the adoption cycle. This would indicate a greater number of accounts have completed the module.
Account List View
At the bottom of your Cadence Details page, you will find a list view of the accounts in your cadence.
You can customize the table layout, by hiding/unhiding specific fields. Click the “Customize table layout” to view the menu of table fields available to display. An open eye icon indicates a visible table field. Clicking an eye icon will immediately remove the field from the table. The default view is that all table fields are visible.
You can save and label table views.
Once you save a view, you can select it at any time later. Once selected, only the visible fields you saved in that view will display.
Enable Automated Emails
With the Advanced Service Plan, you have access to the Enable Automated Emails feature. This feature enables automated reminder emails to be sent to cadence members, specifically based on their module status and time since last module status change. These automated emails separate from the general set of adoption emails, and have been designed to nurture cadence members through the assessment completion process, as they progress from acquiring the module to posting and verifying it. The targeted messaging is intended to encourage and support accounts, as they perform the necessary activities required to complete each module. Email recipients consist of Higg users that are identified as either an “owner” or an “admin” for each account.
Automated emails can be enabled and disabled at any time, with the use of a toggle at the top right corner of each cadence page, accessible to all account users. The default for every cadence is set to Enabled and will display blue when toggled on.
To disable automated emails, simply click the toggle so that it moves left and changes to grey rather blue. Once toggled off, accounts in that cadence will no longer receive emails pertaining to the module assigned to that cadence.
Automated Emails: FAQs
1. Can the automated emails be customized?
No, these platform emails cannot be customized. But automated emails contain fields that are dynamically filled according to the cadence details, some of which are available to customize at the cadence level. Such dynamically-populated fields include module type (i.e. Higg FEM 2019), cadence end date, and Higg account names.
Any time-based emails that contain completion deadline information, will pull the end date that has been set for the cadence. For example, if you had set up a custom cadence with an end date of March 31, 2021, this date will appear as the deadline in all automated communications for this cadence.
2. If my facilities are in other user’s cadences, will they receive emails from them as well?
No, facilities only receive one set of automated emails. The default automation is to include them in the cadence with the earliest approaching deadline.
3. What do “time-based emails” refer to?
Time-based emails are communications that are triggered at key moments in the adoption cycle to help users advance in their journey. An example of a time-based trigger is elapsed time (i.e. 5 days from purchase date, or 14 days away from cadence end date).

Account Table Actions
Filters are available for some of the table fields. Use these filters to find specific accounts within your adoption cadence population.
Batch select options are available.
Remove Accounts from Cadence
When you’ve selected at least one account from the list, you can then click on the Actions button. The list of available actions for your account selection are “Remove from Cadence” and Move to another cadence”.
Choose the action and click Apply. A message will pop up asking you to confirm the action.
You will receive a confirmation of successful removal, at the top of this page.
Move to Another Cadence
If you have created multiple cadences, you can move accounts to other cadences for the same module type (i.e. move accounts from one Higg FEM 2020 cadence to another Higg FEM 2020 cadence). Make your account selection, choose the appropriate action, and click Apply.
A message will pop up asking you to choose a cadence from a list.
Choose the cadence and click Continue.
After reviewing the details of your move selection, confirm the action by clicking “Move to cadence and finish”.
There are multiple ways to export the data from your adoption cadences. The CSV export file contains a list of account names, their Higg IDs, owner/admin account user emails, module, module type, module completion status, module share status, module progress percentage, and verification information.
One way to export this CSV file is by clicking the Export Dataset button on the top left of your cadence account list view.
Another way to export the cadence data is from the Cadence Overview page on your adoption tool dashboard. Click on any number to download a CSV file. Note that clicking on a number within a status column (i.e. 32 under “No Module”) will only export data for accounts that currently have that particular module status.
Edit Cadence Details
To edit a custom cadence, you can click the title or the calendar icon next to the start and end dates.
