Higg FEM

As a part of Ralph Lauren’s Supplier Engagement Strategy (SES) framework, Ralph Lauren requires manufacturing partners to provide visibility to their environmental data annually through completing and verifying the Higg Facility Environmental Module (FEM) 2021.  

The Higg FEM is an industry-leading sustainability assessment tool that standardizes how facilities measure and evaluate their environmental sustainability performance.

Ralph Lauren requires each facility to purchase the Higg Environmental Subscription and FEM Verification*, and complete both the Higg FEM self-assessment and verification modules on annual basis.

• Facility Environmental Subscription – this subscription includes access to the standard Higg FEM 2021 self-assessment.
• FEM Verification– the verification module which allows third-party verifies facility’s self assessment response.

*If you are asked to purchase the Facility Plus subscription by another brand, you will also meet Ralph Lauren’s requirement.

Ralph Lauren partners with Higg, the Sustainable Apparel Coalition’s (SAC) technology partner, to help guide facilities in completing their assessment(s). Higg will be sending email communications throughout the reporting period to each facility. These communications will include regular progress reminders, resources, as well as guidance on the next steps for the facility, in order to fulfill Ralph Lauren’s Higg requirements on time.

SLCP/ Higg FSLM

Ralph Lauren recognize SLCP/ Higg FSLM in Global Citizenship’s Social Compliance Monitoring Program from year 2022.  Factories located in a country or region that is not covered by the Better Work program and has SLCP verification available shall share the SLCP/ Higg FSLM verification result via the associated assessment platforms. We accept verification results (SLCP v1.4 or above) issued within 12 months, counting from the latest G-Citz SCALE assessment date, as valid for our mutual recognition program.

STEP 1: (IMPORTANT) Make sure to add info@higg.com to your company email’s safe email sender list, otherwise you risk not receiving the ongoing communications due to email firewalls. If you do not receive an email from Higg by February 30 , please check your spam folder

STEP 2: LOGIN OR CREATE A HIGG ACCOUNT
Facilities that already have active Higg accounts can log into Higg.org. First-time Higg users should start here to learn how to create an account on Higg.org.

STEP 3: PURCHASE HIGG FACILITY SUBSCRIPTION
Once logged in, purchase your Higg Facility Subscription and FEM verification from the Higg subscriptions page to access the Higg facility assessment.

STEP 4: SHARE HIGG FACILITY MODULE(S) WITH Ralph Lauren
Accept the module share request sent by Ralph Lauren.

If you do not see a pending share request from Ralph Lauren in your modules page, under Share Requests, you should click the Share Module button to initiate the module share with Ralph Lauren.

STEP 5: COMPLETE AND POST HIGG SELF-ASSESSMENT WITH Ralph Lauren
Complete 100% of the applicable questions and post the module. Facilities that have completed the Higg FEM in previous years can use the roll forward feature to easily copy data to the new Higg FEM.

STEP 6: – VERIFY HIGG SELF-ASSESSMENT
Verification of the self-assessment is required by Ralph Lauren. Verification ensures that facilities have accurately completed all parts of the Higg Facility module – giving the self-assessment data the credibility and accuracy required to share publicly. Please select SAC approved verifier to complete your verification.

Ralph Lauren’s Deadlines (2021-2022)

• April 30, 2022 – all Higg FEM 2021 self-assessments must be posted and shared with Ralph Lauren
• June 30, 2022 – all verified Higg FEM 2021 must be posted and shared with Ralph Lauren
