United Legwear’s Higg Requirements (2022-2023)
As part of United Legwear & Apparel’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, it is a requirement for their supply chain partners to complete Higg FEM and FSLM with verification.
United Legwear & Apparel Co., is committed to greater environmental responsibility, reducing our carbon footprint, and protecting the planet. ULAC’s sustainability initiatives for the next decade and beyond are very ambitious and include widespread use of recycled materials in our products and packaging; more efficient waste and water management; improved energy conservation; the reduction of chemical discharge and dangerous emissions in both the manufacture and transport of goods, and investment in new technologies that will reduce our reliance on non-renewable energy sources and raw materials.
United Legwear has teamed up with Higg to provide support to their facility partners as they complete their assessment(s). Higg will be sending email communications throughout the reporting period to each facility. These Higg communications will provide resources and guidance on next steps to ensure facilities are getting the support they need to meet United Legwear’s completion requirements on time.

What is the Higg Index?
The Higg Index is a suite of tools developed by the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC), for the standardized measurement of supply chain sustainability, used by the footwear, apparel, textile, and other industries. Together, these tools are used to assess the environmental and social performance of both value chains and products. Each tool focuses on measuring a different parameter.
